“Why Should I Come to Church?”
Hebrews 10:23-25
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day (i.e. the Day of Christ) approaching.
Jesus Christ is coming soon! He has promised and He never breaks a promise. (See 2 Peter 3:1-8). The writer of Hebrews, inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, call us as believers to make a strong commitment as we wait for Christ’s return.
First, he calls us to “hold fast” to the confession of our hope in Christ and His return because Christ who has given us His promise is faithful. He will do what He said.
Secondly, he calls all believers to give consideration to others by stirring up Christian love and good works. How? By “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” in the house of God with His people” when they meet together. Be sure that you are in church to worship God, to exhort (i.e. par-ak-al-eh’-o= to invite, invoke, by imploration, hortation, consolation, comfort) one another.
Thirdly, He warns us that many have already stopped assembling together as His Body, but that we should assemble even so much the more as we wait for the Day of Christ!
How wonderful to be in God’s House with HIM!
Come join us in God's house.
