A WORD FROM PASTOR KINNEY

"THE DAY OF OUR GREAT GOD!"
Malachi 4:1For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “that will leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi is the last prophet of the Old Testament. He gives revelation to the people of Israel as to what to expect in the days to come. Malachi reveals a “Day” is coming. This day will come like a burning oven. The oven that is burning is to be the judgment and the wrath of God upon the “proud.” The proud are those who do wickedly. Those who do wickedly are compared to straw and stubble or dry wood. The fire of God’s judgment is going to “burn them up.”
Dr. R.G. Lee said, “Pay Day comes some Day!” Yes, it is written in God’s Word! It is written in God’s universe! “Pay Day is coming some Day for everyone! Not one person will escape God’s Pay Day. For the proud who have done wickedly their pay day will be a day of weeping, mourning, crying and wailing and gnashing of teeth. It will be a “Day” of condemnation like never before. Whatever a man has sown, that he will surely reap. Whatever a woman has sown that she will surely reap. These will hear God say, “Depart from Me! I never knew you! And they shall be cast into the Lake which burns with fire and brimstone forever and forever!” With the redeemed and saved by God’s grace there shall be another eternal outcome. They shall hear the Lord say, “Enter you blessed of My Father into the kingdom of God.” These shall enter the New Jerusalem with Jesus Christ and so shall they ever be with the Lord. He shall be their God and they shall be His people forever and ever, Jews and Gentiles shall dwell with Him forever and ever.
Malachi says that the destruction of the wicked shall be such that it shall leave them neither root nor branch, total destruction, but not annihilation. Their burning shall be everlasting!
